Windham Mountain Resort CLAY SHOOTING INSTRUCTOR in Windham, New York
Overview of Position: The Clay Shooting Instructor is responsible for providing a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for guests of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced shooters.
Job Qualifications:
Previous experience as a clay shooting instructor, firearms instructor, or range safety officer (minimum 2 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of shotgun sports, including trap, skeet, and sporting clays.
Certified by a recognized shooting sports organization (e.g., NSCA, NRA, or equivalent certification preferred).
Excellent communication and instructional skills, with the ability to coach individuals and groups.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to create a fun and engaging atmosphere.
Commitment to firearm safety, range protocols, and risk management.
Ability to perform light maintenance on shooting equipment and ensure range readiness.
CPR certification required, training will be provided if necessary.

Provide structured lessons on clay shooting techniques, firearm handling, and safety procedures for guests of all skill levels.
Enforce strict safety guidelines, supervise shooting activities, and conduct safety briefings before each session.
Create a welcoming and professional environment, ensuring guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Oversee the upkeep of shotguns, targets, and shooting stations, reporting any maintenance needs.
Assist in developing instructional programs, tournaments, or group events to enhance guest participation.
Assist with transportation of guests as needed.
Coordinate with other resort departments as needed.
Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a premier product and experience for our guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.
