NJ Employer AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT WORKERS in West Park, New York

Anticipated period of employment: Mar 24, 2025 to Nov 10, 2025

Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmers fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Manually plant, cultivate, & harvest fruits; berries, grapes, vegetables such as herbs, beans, peppers, eggplant, kale, spinach, lettuce and tomatoes. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, & knives. Duties include tilling soil & applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops. Applying pesticides, cleaning, packing and loading harvested product. Construct trellises; repair fences & farm buildings and participate in irrigation activities. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Operate tractors, tractordrawn machinery, & self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil onto crops. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Harvest fruits & vegetables by hand. Apply pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm manager of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, & weeds to determine the selection & application of pesticides & fertilizers. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Record information about crops, such as pesticides use, yields or costs. Must be physically able to lift up to 40lbs on a consistent basis throughout the day. While working in the field, cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Due to health and safety concerns on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple instructions in English. Three months of verifiable experience required in the aforementioned.
