NJ Employer Agricultural Equipment Operators in WARWICK, New York

Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer?s fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Operate tractors, tractor drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow & fertilize soil or to plant, cultivate spray & harvest crops.Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Manually prune, plant, cultivate, & harvest fruits, vegetables, & field crops such as: apples, pears, peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, berries, pumpkins, tomatoes, summer & winter vegetables. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, & knives. Duties include tilling soil & applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops & applying pesticides. Construct trellises, repair fences & farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Set up & operate irrigation equipment. Repair & maintain farm vehicles, implements & mechanical equipment. Help with making and bottling of cider. Help set up, clean and take down cider equipment. Cut, split & stack firewood. Harvest fruits & vegetables by hand. Apply pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers to crops. Inform farmers or farm manager of crop progress. Identify plants, pests, & weeds to determine the selection & application of pesticides & fertilizers. Clear and maintain irrigation ditches. Record information about crops, such as pesticides use, yields or costs. Employer will expect worker to pick a minimum of 100 bu boxes of apples with no more than 4% bruising. While working in the field, cell phone usage is limited to emergency use only. Due to safety concerns on a farm, workers must understand basic instructions in English. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in this order.
Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office.
