Job Summary
The Assistant Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, will assist the Head Football Coach in managing Rensselaer’s Football Program including all aspects of special teams, which encompasses daily operations, recruiting, program planning and project coordination, fiscal and personnel management, and alumni and community outreach efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
One (1) year college coaching experience
Valid US driver’s license
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Requires planning, organizing and effective time management skills
Require ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data
Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a diverse academic population
Requires ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
Requires ability to anticipate and solve problems
Demonstrated skill in instruction and game plan development
Ability to adapt to and support a changing work environment
Strong understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
Ability to provide effective leadership to student athletes, in order to encourage athletic and academic development and performance
Demonstrated commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
Shift
The incumbent is expected to be available during games, practices, and recruiting events, all of which may take place outside of standard business hours.
Travel
Travel is a significant component of the position (greater than 25%)
Driving
Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use
Starting Salary/Rate
Expected hiring range: $60,406
