Syracuse University Temporary Resident Athletic Trainer in Syracuse, New York
Provide quality comprehensive care for student-athletes through prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of injuries and illnesses and assist with injury rehabilitation.
Screening and referral of student-athletes to team physicians when appropriate.
Serve as the in-season athletic trainer for teams as assigned including practice and game coverage as well as team travel. Team coverage could include: men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s rowing, football, cheerleading, and track and field.
Compile and maintain injury and treatment documentation for the Sports Medicine Department.
Assist with the supervision and daily operation of the athletic training facilities and satellite athletic training facilities.
Assist with establishing, coordinating, supervising and monitoring athletic training services to all student-athletes.
Communicate with coaches and athletic department staff on various issues, including but not limited to: the Sports Medicine Department policies and procedures, student-athlete status, restrictions and treatment/rehabilitation, appointment compliance and progress.
Assist team physician and staff with the operation of the physician’s clinic.
Assist with upkeep of the facilities, emergency equipment and modalities.
Collaborate with other departments – Academic Services, Mental Health, Performance Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, and Equipment Room to provide a positive experience for the student-athlete.
