University of Rochester SEIU Waiter/Waitress in Rochester, New York

POSITION SUMMARY:

Serves meals and/or beverages according to established procedures and performs various duties incidental to providing satisfactory service to guests.

SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:

None.

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:

None.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Sets up tables with clean linens and silverware, based on anticipated service needs.

  2. Fills water glasses and pours beverages for guests.

  3. Takes guests orders and serves the meal following established procedures. Explains menu items and specials, and answers questions as needed.

  4. Clears and resets tables in a timely manner. Restocks service stations.

  5. Presents check for signature or payment. Itemizes and totals check.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School education and 6 months experience as a waiter/waitress; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $16.08 - $22.00 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
