G.S. Steamers Bar and Grill is looking for a full time Culinary Chef.
The Culinary Chef is responsible for the overall smooth, efficient operation of the kitchen, while maintaining high culinary standards, creativity, and quality.
Responsibilities Include - He or she recruits, trains, and manages the kitchen staff in their daily activities and motivates the staff to strive for culinary excellence. - In addition, the Culinary Chef manages the inventory of supplies, equipment, food purchasing, receiving, and budgets and maintains safe and sanitary conditions for quality food production and service. - Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times - Stay current on all emergency procedures and acts accordingly - Wear proper uniform and name tag at all times in accordance with the standards of appearance - Attend department meetings - Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Employee Handbook.
Education - High school diploma/GED - College degree or formal culinary training highly preferred
Requirements -Two years of cooking experience (experience in a five-star restaurant highly preferred), additional education or training in food service management, and four years progressively responsible experience in management or supervision in a kitchen setting. - He or she can direct and coordinate the activities of others, provide a motivating influence on subordinates and peers, and take ownership in management decisions. - In addition, the Culinary Chef must have the physical stamina to work a full shift (standing/walking, lifting 50+ pounds, reaching, bending, etc.) and must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. - Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management and math skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior
Pay Rate $15.00-$20.00
