Position Available: CustodianAs a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining our health and safety standards, by cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Performs interior and exterior center janitorial, building maintenance, and groundskeeping assignments. Performs minor building construction tasks.Ensures all equipment and facilities are cleaned and maintained per the center, OSHA, and DOL standards.Stocks supply room with appropriate supplies.Perform general care of plants, trees, and flowers, maintain grounds, and pick up debris.Replaces light bulbs, dust and sanitizer furniture, empty trash receptacles, sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors, buffs floors, and shampoos carpets. Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as sidewalks, entryways, and roofs as required. Salts ice on the exterior grounds of the facility. Moves furniture, equipment, or fixtures as required.Set up rooms for meetings, classes, or events. Ability to work with students, guide and direct them as they shadow and work with you doing your daily tasks NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Skills & Competencies:Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, products, chemicals, and equipment.Skilled in the proper use of cleaning products and equipmentCapable of following verbal and written instructionsAbility to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, labels, and chemicalsProficient in using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, etc. Ability to work in a team-based environment.Must be able to lift 50 poundsEducational Requirements & Experiences:High School Diploma, or Equivalent One year of custodial experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
