Position Summary
The Variable Hours Officer will work with the Senior Director of Business Intelligence and Reporting to create automated financial, student, and demographic data using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and the Dataverse. They will actively participate in the prototyping, design, and development phases of both Microsoft-based and open-source solutions, ensuring that automated workflows and applications are aligned with business needs. The individual will also provide essential support for ongoing and future applications, leveraging a combination of Microsoft tools and non-Microsoft technologies like MySQL and Postgres where applicable. Familiarity with APIs and the ability to access and integrate data from other systems is essential for creating seamless, automated solutions. Expertise in implementing creative user interfaces and programs for seamless interaction with back-end systems and services is crucial.
Responsibilities
- Implementing Creative User Interfaces and Programs: Responsible in leveraging their expertise to design, prototype, and implement solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and related tools to automate processes and integrate systems.
- Database Development: Responsible for the design and development of complete integration solutions for business lines. Defines and implements exception management process and associated tools for auditable integration and database quality control.
- Workflow Automation: Utilize Power Automate and other workflow tools to streamline and automate business processes, ensuring efficient data handling and reporting.
- Supporting Applications and Sites: Provide essential support for applications and sites that integrate both Microsoft and open-source technologies, addressing issues and ensuring seamless functionality.
- Documentation: Document all processes, systems, and workflows for both Microsoft Power Platform solutions and non-Microsoft systems to ensure maintainability and scalability.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or its equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and the Dataverse, with experience in developing automated solutions.
- Proven programming expertise encompassing PHP, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Understanding of database systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgres.
- Familiarity with APIs and experience in accessing, integrating, and utilizing data from external systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with changing priorities and multiple projects.
- Precision and attention to detail are essential.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
