The staff associate The incumbent will assist coordinator with administering medical questionnaires, obtain anthropometric and cognitive measures to participants in a study of aging and nervous systems disorders. They will interview study participants in the field and at CUIMC, using standardized methods. They will assist in collection, labeling, recording, reconciling and transporting biological specimens, mainly blood and saliva. They will assist the project coordinator with biomarkers related aspects of the study.
Functional Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in obtaining blood samples via venipuncture
Ability to administer questionnaires and cognitive measures standard across all participants
Problem Solving: Ability to assess when emergent situations need to be followed up with supervisor while on the field
Decision Making/Autonomy: Works within standardized frame and know when to probe interview questions further as needed
Technical Expertise: Working knowledge on data management databases. Dexterity in drawing blood samples via venipuncture.
Communication: Ability to communicate empathic with vulnerable populations during interview sessions as data is collected-(at all times). Report to coordinator interview findings. Ability to provide educational events for Brain Health and Aging to Senior Centers events.
Bachelor's degree in specific research field and 4 years experience preferred.
