Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Trade School certification and/or one year of maintenance experience preferred.
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities
Cleans, dusts, mops, waxes, buffs, strips, seals or washes floors, windows, and fixtures within the building and grounds of the facility.
Prepares rooms for activities including furniture moving, arrangements, placements of equipment, etc.
Removes or clears rubbish cans or other refuse.
Removes snow from sidewalk, when necessary.
Repairs electrical outlets, windows and leader of gutters.
Performs minor plumbing.
Reports and responds to emergency calls for custodial assistance.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Must be able to lift 50LBS
Performs daily Floor maintenance
Must know how to strip and wax floors
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in working with pesticides and safely disposing of hazardous materials.
Skilled in identifying stains and using appropriate chemicals for their removal.
Experienced in operating both manual and power equipment.
Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, and walking.
Able to work effectively in and around the public, maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Demonstrates sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Competent in working both independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work safely in environments containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust, and noise.
Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions.
Additional Qualifications:
Building operation licenses are a plus.
