NJ Employer farmworker in New Paltz, New York

Anticipated period of employment: 09/07/2024 to 11/13/2024

All applicants must have 3 months experience hand harvesting a perishable crop. Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers.

Under direction of supervisor, worker will cut grass, do weeding, prune trees and repair picking buckets also pick fresh fruit & vegetables: such as apples, pears, pumpkins, tomatoes & squash for fresh market and or processing. Productivity must be 80 bu boxes of fresh market apples per day. All fruit to be handled with care to avoid bruising. Fruit injured by bruising, not to exceed 4%. Workers may be instructed to selectively pick mature fruit according to size, color & other USDA standards. Worker required to handle ladders up to 24 long weighing about 2 lbs per foot. Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs on a consistent basis throughout the work day. Due to health & safety concerns on our farm workers must understand basic instruction in English. Workers referred as a result of this order must have a minimum of three months of verifiable experience in performing the tasks described in this order. Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office. Interested candidates must contact their local employment office to receive a copy of the job order (ETA 790/790A) and applicable attachments. Once the applicant has a copy of the job contract they may call and/or email the employer to schedule an interview Monday- Friday from 9am to 5pm and referred to NY1504847 as the JO is in connection with this NJ number.
