Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort Executive Chef in Lake Placid, New York

The Crowne Plaza, Lake Placid, managed by Essex Hotel Management, is currently seeking a DRIVEN Executive Chef.

The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong work ethic, with the ability to lead schedule and motivate a team of kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating

  • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety

  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies

  • Train and supervise all kitchen staff, ensuring that they are following proper food handling and safety procedures

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all food service needs are met

  • Develop and implement new menu items and specials

  • Monitor food costs and work to minimize waste

  • Develop seasonal restaurant and banquet menus

Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role's

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and safety procedures

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Culinary degree or certification preferred
