Job Description
Assistant Cook will assist in preparing food in accordance with USDA guidelines and state licensing standards, by accurately following established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
·Carefully follow directions given by Head Cook in order to ensure that safe and high quality food service is provided at all times.
Assist in preparing entrees, soups and vegetables following preparation sheets and provided recipes for all areas and any special function
Ensure that all food preparation and assembling is done in compliance with established procedures
Operate all equipment according to the manufacturer’s directions, especially safety guidelines.
Notify the Head Cook of any malfunction or damage of equipment.
Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices
Maintain sanitary and organized work area and clean equipment used in food preparation
Promptly report all equipment and food quality problems to the Head Cook.
Any other related duties as required.
About You
You are the ideal candidate if you are enjoy working in the social services field while empowering underserved communities. Being compassionate, reliable, self-motivated, and a team player are critical attributes to be successful in this role.
You must have at least a high school diploma.
You have one year experience in food service setting, preferably in school and/or child care setting.
You must have the ability to work independently with some guidance from Head Cook.
You are proficient in English and Spanish both oral and written required.
You must be able to work under pressure and in a busy environment.
A valid driver's license is required.
