Edelweiss Dairy LLC Ag Equipment Operator in Freedom, New York
5 fulltime seasonal H-2A jobs available 4/28/2025 - 11/30/2025.
We are a Dairy Farm that crops about 14,000 acres of ground growing feed for the cows. We grow corn silage, grain and haylage along with wheat. We are looking for 4 workers to operate trucks on back roads approximately 15 miles around the dairy hauling manure and silage to and from the dairy. These workers must be able to obtain a Farm F Endorsement license and demonstrate after arrival that they can indeed drive a standard semi truck tractor. Our trucks are Macks, peterbuilts and western stars with manual transmissions. Driving is in close proximity to the farm and consists of driving in field conditions and along rural roads. Workers will not be required to cross state lines, maintain DOT hours of service records, navigate interstate toll stations, etc. Schedule must be flexible as we run with good weather.
The second position I am looking to fill would be a full time spray rig operator. We have a brand new 120 ft boom miller sprayer with the most up to date electronics. Operator must be able to follow instructions on accurate mix recipes and application rates. Experience required. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; record information about crops; regulate conditions; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; weigh containers and record weights and identifying information.
Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: dirt moving equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, manure spreading equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, sprayers, straight frame trucks, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: corn, silage, wheat. Must speak and understand English. Requirements:
- Must have three months recent and verifiable experience
- Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures
- Extensive pushing/pulling/sitting/walking, frequent stooping/bending over and repetitive movements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker.
