Hours: Standard 2p to 10p, 3p to 11p or 10p to 6a, 11p to 7a, with other shifts possible based on business need

Summary:

The Shift Supervisor: Security, Parking and Switchboard supports the Security, Parking and Switchboard departments within the organization to protect the employees, patients, visitors, medical staff and all other persons within a Catholic Health System Ministry/Organization from security risks. Observes hospital campus for suspicious activity and takes appropriate action to maintain campus safety.

The Supervisor supports the parking processes, access controls and switchboard operations. Covers switchboard during Operator lunch breaks - operates a console telephone switchboard in order to relay incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls. Collects parking fees using a computerized cash register system and provides directions, information and parking alternatives to patients and visitors of Sisters Hospital. Other duties as assigned. This position is a multi-campus assignment.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma

  • Some College preferred

  • Must have and maintain NYS Security Guard Registration Card (license) or the ability to obtain certification or waiver as a New York State Security Guard within one (1) year of hire.

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years' experience in a guard or a law enforcement position.

  • Experience working in a communication center or call center desired.

  • Knowledge of computerized cash registers, electronic or mechanical experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, parking related software)

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and run, climb stairs and physically restrain persons (when necessary) for short high intensity periods.

  • Demonstrates good customer relation skills.

  • Must have elementary knowledge of the English language.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to work directly with the general public.
