Under the direction of the Security Manager, the Security Officer is responsible for the protection of Materion assets, which include people, property and information.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permittingAnswer alarms and investigate disturbancesUtilize the company’s visitor policies to issue visitor passes and make sure that each guest is accompanied by an employee before entering the facilityMonitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premisesWrite reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, health and safety issues observed, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited items from production areas to unauthorized areas within the facilityInspect and adjust security systems and equipment to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associated degree preferred.Must have and maintain a valid NYS Security Officer license.1-2 years experience in security/loss prevention preferred.Must be able to read and comprehend all security policies and procedures.Must be able to work in a Metal Free Environment.3rd shift schedule 11p- 7:30a- shift differentialSome weekend overtime
Minimum Salary: 21 Maximum Salary: 24 Salary Unit: Yearly
