Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

As Facilities Maintenance Technician for FeedMore WNY, you will be responsible for assisting with vendor management, basic building, fleet and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting problems, and hands-on jobs such as groundskeeping. The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the FeedMore WNY Foundation, FeedMore WNY, Inc. (the Agency) and Hearty Helpings, Inc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting and carpentry;

  • Grounds maintenance, including weeding beds, snow removal assistance, removal of external trash and debris, and maintenance of trees and shrubs

  • Inspecting buildings, equipment and systems to identify any issues

  • Repairing faulty equipment units and damaged structures;

  • Managing plumbing systems to guarantee functionality;

  • Changing and bi-weekly check of lightbulbs across throughout all facilities;

  • Cleaning ceiling tiles, light fixtures, diffusers and air returns throughout all facilities;

  • Conducting quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure safety standards;

  • Detailing corporate vehicles (1x per month X 40 vehicles @ 1.5 hours per vehicle);

  • Check and ensure proper fluid levels on corporate passenger vehicles as well as Hearty Helpings Inc. fleet;

  • Power washing of exterior spaces, courtyard, garage doors, and dock levelers;

  • Exterior window washing;

  • Assisting Facilities Maintenance Manager in the sealing of common area floors;

  • Carpet shampooing;

  • Eyewash and AED monthly inspections;

  • Assistance with the farming program either within the containers or community garden;

  • Picking up locally sourced parts for repairs and other needed materials;

  • Accompany vehicles for pick-up or drop off for maintenance and repairs;

  • Assisting with any and all mission work as needed and requested with some or no prior notice including, but not limited to: serving as a truck spotter, helping with FARM Market/Community Garden/Freight Farms/on and off site food distributions, preparation of meals and serving home-delivered meals; and

  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds and be fully literate with basic math skills.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems

  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices

  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods

  • Must be dependable, responsive, and conscientious, capable of calmly resolving problems and a hands-on team member for whom no job is too big or too small.

  • A professional demeanor and a “can do” attitude. Must be able to lift, bend, squat and other physical activities and may involve periodic heights and small spaces.

Salary Description

$20.00-$23.00/hr.
