Job Description:
Budget Title: Cleaner
Grade: SG-5
Salary: $32,343 for full time and $16,172 for part time
Part-time and full time entry-level custodial positions on various shifts. A Cleaner performs a variety of routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort in cleaning and caring for an assigned area in buildings and adjacent grounds and sidewalks.
Employees may work many weekends and holidays and are subject to mandatory and voluntary overtime.
Shifts available:
Full time, 11 pm-7 am (Weekend shifts may be necessary as well as Monday holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day should they fall on a Monday; pass days vary)
Full time, 4am-1230pm, Monday-Friday
Part-time, day shift, Monday - Friday 10 am - 2:30 pm (+/- 30 min depending on building assignment)
Part-time, weekends, 1st shift: Saturday, Sunday & Monday (including Monday holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year's Day should they fall on a Monday)
Upon hire, a 52-week probationary period must be served.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of the properties of various cleaning substances.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and simple written instructions in English
Ability to stand, stoop, bend and stretch for long periods of time
Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor
Ability to use various cleaning equipment and products
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and shovel snow
Ability to read, write and understand English
Successful applicants must be good communicators, have a positive attitude, and be able to work productively as a team member
