Amergis Maintenance Technician in Albany, New York

Salary: $20 - $22 per hour

Primary Responsibilities

The MT is responsible for maintaining the Agency owned/managed facilities’ functional and aesthetic condition. This position requires technical knowledge and manual labor to complete work orders and routine maintenance tasks. The MT must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including but not limited to painting, dry wall, minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.

  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests quickly and efficiently.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, machinery, and systems.

  • Inspect facilities for safety hazards, and take appropriate action.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks.

  • Participate in Section 8, Building Code, and Regulatory Agency inspections.

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and materials used.

  • Utilize CMMS for work order management.

  • Purchase necessary supplies and materials as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Ensure that maintenance shop and storage areas are organized, tidy, and secure.

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, supervision meetings, and trainings.

  • Participate in “on-call” rotation for emergencies outside of regular business hours.

    Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Custodian to perform a wide range of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide clean,orderly and safe environment. They are responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of an area(s).


  • Follows established practices to properly clean and sanitize restrooms

  • Ensures restrooms are stocked with proper toiletries and products

  • Assists with inventory control of products

  • Performs routine cleaning that involves, dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpetshampooing throughout facility

  • Follows appropriate guidelines in the handling of cleaning chemicals and/or supplies

  • Ensures that entrances to buildings/doors are securely locked when appropriate

  • Performs random checks on facility doors/windows when facilities not in use

  • Responsible for the reporting of unauthorized individuals within facilities/buildings to properpersonnel

  • Repairs and maintains power equipment and hand tools such as vacuums, buffers, pressurewashers, etc.

  • Performs minor maintenance as applicable

  • Properly cleans floors and applies floor sealer as needed

  • Routinely empties wastebaskets and ash trays

  • Handles and properly disposes recycled materials

  • Follows and enforces policies and procedures such as OSHA and safety regulations andguidelines

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary


  • One (1) year of custodial experience preferred

  • High school diploma preferred

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including,but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiencyin the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
